Can Bearded Dragons Eat Mint

Can Bearded Dragons Eat Mint

Yes – in moderation and in small amount bearded dragons can eat mint leaves as a small treat. They however should not eat too much as mint leaves contain a lot of water and therefore could cause a bearded dragon to have diarrhea if they eat too much. Mint leaves may also cause other health concerns if overeaten.

When considering what types of foods you should feed to your bearded dragon it is important to remember the 1:1 ratio for phosphorus to calcium parts. Or worst case 2:1.

In this instance mint leaves are fine but as mentioned above they still do contain a lot of water.

Therefore only give mint leaves as a treat once in awhile and not too much of them.
