From the genus Allium onions are a vegetable that are also known as bulb onion or common onion.

This vegetable is great because you have so many options of what you can do with onions and they can significantly change the flavor of a dish.

Onions are native to Asia and the onion bulb is actually grown under the soil.

Onions come in a variety of shapes, colors, sizes, and strengths (of flavor). One of the most common onions used is the yellow onion. Additionally another popular onion is the red onion and the white onion.
