Can Rabbits Eat Dandelions?

Dandelions are a flowering plant that are often known for their yellow and white colors at the top of the stem.

As a child many kids have picked this flower and blew the tops off of them so they would float into the sky.

So can rabbits eat dandelions at all?

Yes, rabbits can safely eat dandelions.

In fact they are full of fiber which is great for a rabbits diet as it can help with a normal functioning digestive system.

As well they contain many good nutritional elements such as:

  • Vitamin B-1
  • Vitamin B-2
  • Vitamin B-5
  • Vitamin B-6
  • Vitamin B-12
  • Vitamin C
  • Vitamin E
  • Vitamin D
  • Iron
  • Calcium
  • Potassium
  • Magnesium
  • and many others

Make sure however to avoid any dandelions that may have been sprayed directly with fertilizer or herbicides as that can be very dangerous to your rabbits health.

Like all things make sure you only feed within moderation. Too much can lead to obesity and other health issues.
